
CANTILEVER INTERIORS is an Inner-urban joinery who specializes in Design or Construction of Kitchens, Storage, Bathrooms and Furniture. From week to week projects range from unique furniture pieces through to multi-unit fit-outs, in a variety of Details and Finishes.
Cantilever Interiors has remained a small company to ensure that quality of production and design integrity is maintained.Working alongside Builders, Architects, Interior Designers and the public; we work off-the-plan or Design and Construct to meet the demands of mid range to high-end Domestic and Commercial joinery projects.
Our personalized approach to public enquiry includes site visits, design meetings, computer generated concept drawings and assistance in referrals to relevant trades and suppliers. Cantilever Interiors design to complement the preferred style of the client; each project personalized to integrate the existing framework of a residence or business. We have established a reputation in the industry of Eco-friendly Joinery, continually developing new techniques and working with new finishes and materials to refine greater options for sustainable interiors.
Cantilever Interiors has successfully completed small scale Commercial projects including Café Fit-outs, Reception and Boardroom Refurbishments and Boutique Retail Interiors.
Cantilever Interiors was formed in April 2006 by 3 individual Furniture Design + Makers’. Charlie Wilde, Travis Dean and Peter Tragardh-Daly each came to work out of the same Design + Manufacture Studio Warehouse in Brunswick, where they started collaborating on larger-scale projects.

| CHARLIE WILDE With a background in agriculture + construction I came down to Melbourne in 1987 working as a musician. Completing a Design in Wood Diploma at Coles School of Woodcraft in 1995 and a Diploma of Arts [Furniture Design] at RMIT in 1996-97, I then worked from home making one off furniture pieces and a small product lighting range before moving into 3 Phase Design Studios in Brunswick May 2000. I began collaborating with Pete and Travis in 2003 before forming Cantilever in 2006. |
TRAVIS DEAN I completed an Apprenticeship in Carpentry in Mornington Peninsula, moving to Melbourne in 1993 to become the Workshop Manager of a furniture manufacturing company in Moonee Ponds. I then started working from a home-workshop on private furniture commissions, moving into 3 Phase Design Studios in Brunswick in 1999. Consolidating Travis Dean Furniture Design + Production; I have continued designing and manufacturing for private commissions and developed a product range for exhibition and retail distribution in Melbourne. |
PETER TRAGARDH-DALY My career began working on a National Trust Restoration project at the Melbourne Treasury Buildings. I then completed a cabinet making apprenticeship, working in the family business specializing in Antique Restoration. In 1999 I began Designing and Making individual pieces of furniture, in 2001 starting my own business ‘Blueriver Productions’ operating out of 3 Phase Design Studios. Since the early days I have had a great appreciation of fine furniture and intend to carry this through our current design and construction. |
