Perth House — Coastal ease in Fremantle
The Petra St project beautifully marries the coastal ease of a Western Australian summer, and the egalitarian and eco-mindedness of our kitchen designs. This Fremantle workers cottage has been lovingly transformed by the client, incorporating a strong Scandinavian aesthetic with a focus on all things Mid-Century. Clad in black weatherboards, framed in crisp white timber and adorned with a lush garden of succulents, the dwelling was an excellent match for our K1 Kitchen. The simple yet elegant laminate and plywood finishes provide a perfect backdrop for both the existing house features and the client’s collection of modernist ceramics and homewares. An addition of a breakfast bar was specifically designed to house a pair of Modernist chairs inherited from the client’s mother.
According to the owner Julieanne, designing and ordering a kitchen from Cantilever in Melbourne and having it delivered to Fremantle was not as difficult as initially thought. 'The whole process couldn't have gone any smoother thanks to the team at Cantilever who ensured that every stage was fool-proof. Phone calls, numerous emails and very detailed drawings and plans, as well as visits from the installation team from Perth prior to the arrival, meant the kitchen and appliances arrived safely and fitted perfectly. There was not one scratch on anything thanks to the care taken in the wrapping and packaging of the kitchen prior to it being transported by rail from Melbourne in a container. I could not have asked for better service and I am thrilled with my new Cantilever K1 kitchen' advised Julianne.
